Our CSA and Pick-your-own

Community Supported Agriculture is a wonderful opportunity for local farmers to establish a relationship with local consumers. By buying a “share” in a CSA, you are supporting your local farmer and investing in the growth of your own food.

CSA pick-up signs

How does this work? Consumers purchase a share of the harvest before the growing season. This helps the farmer with the costs of running her/his farm. During the harvest period, CSA “shareholders” or “members” enjoy a weekly share of fresh, locally grown food as it is harvested. This means:

  • Your food is fresh.
  • Your food has not been altered to make it last longer than it is naturally inclined to do.
  • Your food did not require fossil fuels for its storage, packaging, or transportation.

In short, CSA membership is good for you, your community, and the environment.

Our 2010 CSA share includes:

- About 4-8 pounds of tree fruits (peaches, pears, and several varieties of apples) during the harvest season (August through October);
- Raspberries and blueberries during the season;
- A 10-pound bag of apples you and your family pick in September;
- One of our delicious apple pies.
- Farm tours with the farmer
- A weekly e-newsletter during harvest season with farm updates, recipes and fruit news.
- A $5.00 coupon to purchase our other farm products, including apple cider, apple cider vinegar, pumpkins.
- Cost: $165

Here is what our members say about our CSA:

"The taste of the fruit was amazing - particularly the Asian pears.  They were the juciest I've ever had."

"Thank you for EVERYTHING!  This has been a wonderful experience for our family."

“Thank you for the opportunity to buy a fruit share. We have all thoroughly enjoyed the many flavors of fruit you have offered to us.”

“Personally, I thought it would be impossible to eat that much fruit each week. I was wrong!”

“The fruit was excellent! Delicious!”
