Programs on the Farm
Small Ones Farm has many programs that connect us with our local community. Here are some examples:
Summer Concert Series
Join us and our musical partners, The Valley Winds, for our summer concerts right here on the farm! Bring a picnic dinner, enjoy the amazing music performed by local professional musicians, and partake of our amazing raspberry pie with local ice cream! Stay tuned for 2022 details!
School Visits
Many school groups visit our farm, from kindergarten through high school. Younger groups pick apples, and enjoy visiting our chickens and Squeak, our 15 year old barn cat. Older students use our farm as an extension of their science class, independent study projects, orientation events, and community service.
College classes have also visited our farm for research projects in agriculture, environmental science and film studies.
Groups of 40 or fewer work best. Contact us for more information.
Internships
Are you a college student who wants to learn about farming? We offer summer and fall internships on the farm. Interns are involved in all aspects of the farm operation - the good, the bad and the tedious! Past interns have received college credit, others have funded the experience through their college's PRAXIS program.

Retreats
Our farm is a beautiful location for meetings and retreats. We have hosted local singing groups, Girl Scouts, corporate retreats, education groups, international exchange students, farm committees, and a local wind quintet. Groups of 35 or fewer work best.

Community Shares Program
Fruit shares for the community!
Our "Community Shares Program" or CSP allows our CSA members to donate a little extra money when they buy their fruit shares, which gets pooled together to pay for shares for local community organizations. In the past, our Community Shares Program has offered regular deliveries of our apples, peaches, pears and pies to local organizations such as The Amherst Survival Center, Not Bread Alone soup kitchen, and the Amherst Senior Center.
You can help us offer weekly shares of our fruit to local community organizations. Please contact us.
Apple Picking
We offer dozens of apple varieties for apple picking, including heirloom varieties and contemporary favorites. We host apple picking in September. Keep an eye on our website for details.
